The orangutan are ape like animals that can be found in southeast Asia (on the islands of Borneo and Sumatra). They have a very well fitted home in the trees. They can be found swinging from tree branch to tree branch with their arms. The name ''orangutan'' means man of the forest. The have a large, bulky body, a thick neck, very long, strong arms, short, bowed legs, and no tail. Orangutans are about 2/3 the size of the gorilla. They have long redish-brownish hair and a
large head with a prominent mouth area. Adult males have large cheek flaps (which get larger as the ape ages). In many ways they are like us . They have human senses such as hearing, sight, smell, taste, and touch. The biggest stands at about 7.5 feet (2.3 m). They have hands much like us , thy have feet like us as well they have four long toes plus an opposable big toe. A male can weigh 200 lb (90 kg) and the women can weigh 110 lb (50 kg) and be 2.6-3.5 ft (0.8-1.1 m) and the male can be as tall as 3.2-4.5 ft (1-1.4 m)
